Kevin Federline had a nice Mother's Day gift for Britney Spears and a new report from Us Weekly Magazine claims that it is baby steps toward a more amicable relationship and perhaps even reconciliation.  Britney recently spent time in Louisiana with her sister Jamie Lynn Spears for her baby shower.  Some believe Britney sees Jamie Lynn pregnant and ready to marry fiancé Casey Aldridge and that sparked the feelings to get back with Kevin.

Britney Spears & Kevin Federline Making Plans to Reconcile?

The magazine reports that on May 11, their sons, Sean, 2, and Jayden, 20 months, spent the day with Mom at her Beverly Hills home — with Federline’s blessing. “(It) was important to Kevin that the kids be able to be with their mother,” Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said May 12 on the Today show. He added that the exes have a “camaraderie.”


The magazine reports that indeed, that’s a big change in the formerly contentious couple, who battled bitterly for custody only a few months ago after Spears was placed under psychiatric watch following a January breakdown. Federline — who has not been in a serious relationship since his split from Spears — “is amazed at how good her progress is. They could get back together,” an insider says. Adds a Spears source: “She wants the boys to feel their parents are unified.” (Although at least one source insists, “Britney and Kevin are not reuniting” any time soon.)

Mother’s Day capped off a positive — and busy! — week for Spears, who on May 6 won expanded custody of her sons. The following day, she worked on getting her old bod back at Bally Total Fitness in L.A.’s Studio City, where she has been exercising with trainer Dave Van Daff, the article notes.

And on May 8 — after spending the day with her kids — Spears, 26, joined ex-manager Larry Rudolph at the finale of MTV’s Rock the Cradle, on which he was a judge. “She was here to support the show,” Rudolph told the Hot Stuff section of us Weekly. “She didn’t come for publicity.” Hey, maybe she really has changed!

Mother's Day couldn't have come at a better time this year for Britney Spears. As she continues to recover from a tumultous year, the one thing she has come to rely on is the precious time spent with her sons, Sean Preston, 2, and one-year-old Jayden James.

The singer,26, spent a relatively low-key and happy Mother's Day on May 11 with her own mom, Lynn Spears, and her two boys at her home in Studio City, Calif. Also on hand was Brit's dad, Jamie Spears, himself a trained chef who prepared a lavish brunch for the group.

A neighbor who saw Britney that day tells OK!, "She was smiling like I haven't seen in ages."

May 13, 2008: X17 photogs spotted Britney Spears hitting the streets full throttle again! You would think a fender-bender and a whirlwind of paparazzi surrounding you would warrant the mere mortal to take it easy, but not our girl Brit!! First, she had "Team Ballys" escort her to a health center (weird), then the crew went to go break a sweat at the Culver City location. To polish off the night, the pop diva then headed off to the studio. Keep it up, Brit!

Brit Brit was texting on her cell phone while at a red light, and mistakenly ran into the car in front of her when she thought the left-turning light was for her. It's just one of those days for Britney!

Pop star Britney Spears, who is notorious for her erratic driving, has been involved in a minor car accident this afternoon.

In an incident first reported on X17online.com, the singer allegedly rear-ended a Ford SUV while driving her white Mercedes SL on Sunset Blvd. earlier today. Neither Britney, the other driver, nor Brit's bodyguard who was in the car with her at the time, were injured in the accident.

Sources on the scene tell OK! that the driver of the SUV, which is registered to an Edith Cortese, followed Brit back to her house inside the gated community of The Summit. Instead of calling the police, the witness says that Brit's guard calmed the driver down and invited her over to the house.

Britney was recently the passenger in her car when it was involved in a similar incident.

OK! is investigating this matter, so stay tuned as details develop.

Britney Spears was involved in a minor car accident Tuesday afternoon, when she rear-ended a red Ford Explorer in Beverly Hills.

"I think she was just distracted," said a witness. "She just tapped the other car in front of her."

Spears, 26, was at the wheel of her white Mercedes-Benz SL65 when she left her Studio City home for an afternoon drive. Shortly thereafter, she rear-ended the SUV.

Her bodyguard, who was sitting shotgun, got out and apparently gave a business card to the other driver, a female. Police were not involved.

Witnesses say the driver of the Explorer followed Spears back to her home to exchange information, apparently suggested by the bodyguard to avoid press attention.

Spears was involved in a fender bender in L.A. just last month on April 12.

This just in - Britney Spears has just been involved in another car accident!

The pop princess was behind the wheel her white Mercedes SL down Sunset around 2:10 PM this afternoon when she rear-ended a red Ford Explorer. Luckily, neither Britney nor the other driver (or, for that matter, Britney's bodyguard, who had been riding shotgun in her Mercedes) was injured, although Brit's car sustained some damage to the front.

Brit hit a red Ford Explorer, driven by a lady. No injuries, as far as we know -- Britney didn't even get out of the car. Her bodyguard got out and talked to the other woman.

The red Explorer Brit hit is now following her back to Britney's home.

As if we already didn't know....

Britney Spears and her reformation, the songstress has successfully strutted her way back onto the Top 20 of Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 list — scraping in at No. 19. Seeing as though our gal didn’t even make the cut last year, we’re pretty proud of how far she’s come.

After sneak-peaking at the steamy list, we can safely say Spears beat the likes of Cameron Diaz, Beyonce, Penelope Cruz, Mandy Moore and Sienna Miller.

"... [Britney] still oozes genuine sexiness, and if anyone can make a comeback, it's her," a Maxim editor said.

But there are a few sexy surprises as well — the not-so "Ugly" America Ferrera comes in at No. 84, Emma Watson makes her debut at No. 94, tattooed Tinseltowner Kat Von D is No. 62 and Meg from "Family Guy" (aka Mila Kunis) gets to show off much more than just her voice in the men's mag as she comes in at No. 81.

With all the controversy swirling around her belly, all the paps want is a piece of Britney Spears these days - and they're not afraid to show it!

The pop princess was making her exit from Bally after another workout yesterday afternoon when she started hearing the most beautiful music - her own! Some of the paps had cranked their stereos to eleven and started blasting "Piece Of Me" as Brit headed back to her car with a big smile on her face. How apropos!

In fact, the next place we saw Brit was at the recording studio where she put in some more work on her new tracks (and hid behind her phone). Think she can top "Piece Of Me"? We can't wait to find out!

Britney Spears returned to CBS’s How I Met Your Mother Monday as Abby, the silly-vulnerable receptionist with an unrequited crush on Ted (Josh Radnor). The ratings spiked with her first appearance, so she was quickly shoehorned into this new episode.

The fact that Britney’s second guest spot really didn’t work was no fault of hers. She’s not at all bad at playing clunkily-sweetly dumb. I liked the way she tried to vent her conflicted feelings of anger and love for Ted while lying in bed and staring dreamily at the ceiling: “You know what I hate most about Ted? His stupid hair … His stupid, lame, awesome hair. It’s so stupid and awesome,” she said with a cute, singsong lilt.

But the script was an awful piece of specialty construction. Abby’s reverie occurred in a bed shared with Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), who was also feeling rejected by Ted — as a friend. His and Abby’s mutual annoyance turned them both on, so they slept together.

Then they decided to pose as a couple to annoy Ted. Then Barney carried the joke too far by proposing to Abby. Then Abby suddenly thought Barney really loved her. Then, to get out of the engagement, Barney told Abby that their romance had done the trick and now a jealous Ted did love Abby. And then Abby got this crazy love-hungry Shelley Winters-like gleam in her eye, setting up the possibility for a third guest spot.

Well, that’s a lot to cram into the subplot of a 20-odd-minute show. It would have taken me less time to type out the synopsis of Dangerous Liaisons. The twists felt arbitrary and perverse, even for a so-so sitcom, which is what HIMYM is.

Britney Spears has revealed she's in the throes of a new romance - on screen, that is.

The troubled star appeared in bedroom scenes with Neil Patrick Harris in her return appearance in the US sitcom How I Met Your Mother, which aired in the US last night.

In the episode Britney reprised her role as ditzy Abby, who dates serial womaniser Barney (Harris) but she still seems to be longing for her other crush, Ted (Josh Radnor).

The 26-year-old first appeared on the show in March, earning her positive reviews and drawing in the show's highest ever ratings.

The show's co-creator, Craig Thomas, said the episode was written to leave the door open for her to make a return appearance next season.

"She was better than the first time," he said, "and I think fans will enjoy it because her return answers a mystery set up earlier in the series."

Britney said in a statement: "I had such a great experience the last time I was on the show that I couldn't wait to come back."

"Abby is going to have a lot of fun!"

Meanwhile, Britney is again the subject of pregnancy rumours after again stepping out with a swollen belly.

It comes as the mother of two continues her battle for custody of her two sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.

Seriously, we're at a loss for words here - could Britney Spears be pregnant again?

Don't just look at the size of Brit's belly in these pix from Saturday - pay attention to the shape, too. Doesn't that look like a baby bump? I mean, I just can't ignore it!

Of course, the cigarette in Brit's right hand leads us to believe that she's not preggers - after watching the pop star make it through her first two pregnancies without so much as a single smoke, it's hard to believe she'd behave so carelessly now!

So what do you think - should the Spears family be getting ready for another baby shower? Or did we just happen to catch Britney from a weird angle? Guess we'll have to see!

She and Jamie played with Sean and Jayden outside of Brit's Beverly Hills house, taking them for a ride in their favorite wagon.

There may be a thaw in the formerly contentious relationship between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, suggests K-Fed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan.

Spears, who last week was awarded more visitation time with her sons by Federline (Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1), was the topic of discussion for Kaplan, on Monday's Today show.

Kaplan said that the judge's decision at last week's ruling reflected an "improvement" in Spears's condition. She spent full days, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on both May 8th and Mother's Day with her sons.

Asked about the current status of the relationship between the couple – including the rumor they would again star together on a TV show – Kaplan sidestepped any direct answers, instead saying that any potential reconciliation between Spears and Federline would be for the sake of their sons. (Britney makes her second appearance on CBS's How I Met Your Mother Monday night.)

"If you're going to have two parents participate in the lives of raising their children," said Kaplan, "there has to be some camaraderie between them for that to be a meaningful expectation and reality."

But are things better between the ex-husband and wife?

"When you go from where things were, when there was no visitation, to where they are now," said Kaplan, "there will be some contact … there'd be some ability to exchange a camaraderie that is necessary and a function of co-parenting together."

The Hannah Montana actress, who caused shockwaves after going against her good girl image and posing in some racy photos for Vanity Fair, believes that LiLo and Brit Brit have “good hearts”.

She says: "Everyone has their time. And I think most 21- to 25-year-olds go through this kind of thing. Basically, they're being normal 21-year-olds, especially Lindsay (Lohan).

“I mean, most of that's pretty normal. If you went to most high schools, I could point out Britneys (Spears) and Lindsays.

"I guess that's why I'm so adamant about the Britneys and Lindsays and whatever, because I know those people and I know they have good hearts and they're just struggling."

Three times may be the charm for Britney Spears and "How I Met Your Mother."

With Spears making her second guest appearance on the abruptly popular CBS comedy, the show's co-creator Craig Thomas tells THR.com that Monday's episode was written to leave the door open for the pop singer to make a return appearance next season.

"She was better than the first time and I think the fans will enjoy it because her return answers a larger mystery set up earlier in the series," Thomas said. "So there's a good plot reason why she's there. And when people watch Britney's second appearance on the show they'll see that the door is still open for her to come back."



Spears first visit resulted in "Mother" hitting its highest rating ever. The show has since maintained an elevated audience level compared to last year. Once considered on the bubble for a fall renewal, the critically acclaimed comedy is now.
